God Is Light

1 John 1:5-9

This is the message we have heard from Him and announce to you, that God is Light, and in Him there is no darkness at all. If we say that we have fellowship with Him and yet walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth; but if we walk in the Light as He Himself is in the Light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin. If we say that we have no sin, we are deceiving ourselves and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

No matter how far I think I've fallen, God is always faithful to forgive and cleanse me of all my unrighteousness when I come before Him and confess my sins. I know sometimes it might be scary to approach God and to come before Him to confess, but remember that He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteouness! How wonderful and how merciful God is! I know that it may often feel like a battle- a Civil war- with our old nature and our new nature in Christ being in conflict. But I know that as we continue to walk in Him, letting the indwelling Christ control all, the more His Light will shine in us and the more darkness will flee!
