So on a whim our youth pastor's wife asked if we wanted to go to concert at summit church. I thought it was just going to be like a regular extended worship service, but it turned out that Tenth Avenue North was actually playing!! Crazy! So yesterday, we went and it was an amazing experience! Aside from all the great music, crazy lights, and fog there were some things that the lead singer said that really got to me. And I just thought I should write it down before I forget! One thing he is said was, "I don't know about you guys, but I believe that we need to hear the gospel everyday! And many times we are the one preaching it to ourselves!" Recently God has shown me we can be overwhelmed by His love every single day! I totally agree, hearing the gospel once, twice, or even 50 times is not enough. I want to remind myself of the gospel each and everyday and be completely in awe and overwhelmed by His love for me. Because the moment I stray from focusing on the fact that I am nothing but a hopeless broken sinner, but that God loved me so much that He sent Jesus to die for me so I could be restored through Him, that is the moment I begin to feel lost, confused and distracted. And the days I do try to be a good Christian and read the bible and such and such, so many times I just end up feeling deficient. But the thing is, loving God doesn't start with us, it starts with Him. Our love is a response to His everlasting, abundant and merciful love, which He wants to pour out on us every single day. This love is something I don't want to forget for a second. The leader singer said the two most import words we need to know is "Live Loved." Wow! That is what I need to do, because many days I just live like I'm EW. But yea, there is nothing I can could possibly do to earn this love, but He loves me and I am so happy and thankful for that! I guess once I realize this everyday, living for Him become less difficult. My youth pastor once said, that we do not have the power to change ourselves, only God can change/ fix us. And in order to change we need to fall in love with Him first. I thought this was such amazing insight! Because so many times I try to change myself, but I always fall short and end up frustrated! But now I know that only God has the power to truly change this heart of mine. Anyways, the concert was amazing and Tenth Avenue North even played some of their oldie songs! I'm so glad that I went, it truly was a blessing! Another funny thing the lead singer said is that hearing the gospel is like being in between a swivel (i think that's the word he said lols) and swagger! Where we are not all egotistical and swagerring like Justin Beiber or something but at the same time we are not hanging our head down like Eeyore either, we are just there and end up forgetting about ourselves and only see our amazing Father in Heaven! Amen!
